Dr. Ángela Sánchez

Neuropsychologist | Autism Spectrum Disorders Specialist | Author | Founder

Dr. Angela Sanchez is a distinguished Neuropsychologist with expertise in neuropsychological evaluation and Autism Spectrum Disorders (ASD) intervention. Her academic journey includes studies at renowned institutions such as Universidad del Valle de Atemajac in León, Mexico, Universidad Iberoamericana de León in Mexico, University of Havana in Cuba, and Universidad San Buenaventura in Bogotá, Colombia, among others.

Credentials:

  • Over 20 years of experience specializing in the management of individuals within the Autism Spectrum, with a particular focus on severe behaviors.
  • Trained in various cognitive-behavioral methodologies, with a strong emphasis on improving the lives of individuals with autism.
  • Pioneered the creation and application of the INTEGRATIVE METHOD, a highly regarded approach used in several Latin American countries.
  • Creator of the Neuropsychological Evaluation of the Autism Spectrum (ENEA) in 2015, a comprehensive evaluation tool that has been widely adopted.
  • Author of the books “A Light on the Camino” (2012) and “And Now What Should I Do?” (2013).
  • Co-author of the book “Manual for Parents of Children with Specific Language Impairment (SLI).”
  • Wrote the prologue for the book “Padres Coterapeutas.”

Dr. Sanchez’s commitment to advancing research and therapeutic care for individuals with cognitive disabilities is exemplary. She is the founder and scientific director of NEUROREHABILITAR – COLOMBIA clinic, the largest therapeutic care clinic in Latin America, and a globally recognized institution for analysis and research in cognitive-behavioral processes of children with cognitive disabilities. Additionally, she established the NGO FUNDACIÓN COLOMBIANA ÁNGELES DE LA GUARDA (2016), a specialized institution dedicated to Inclusive Education.

Dr. Hernán Cerna

Doctor in Medicine and Master in Psico-Neuro-Immunology by the International University, Colombo. 

Researcher, trainer, and well-known international speaker in Neuroscience, Communication and Leadership, he is considered one of the most relevant authorities in Coaching, Mentoring and Supervision in Spanish language, having a professional experience of more than 16.000 hours among the three specialties. Dr. Cerna won the “EMCC Global Coaching Award 2021” as the best world coach of the year. His most relevant individual accreditations are as follows:

  • “EIA Master Practitioner” by the European Mentoring & Coaching Council (EMCC)

Dr. Javier José Hernández Covarrubias is a highly accomplished medical professional with a diverse range of specializations and extensive training in various disciplines.

Education and Specializations:

  • Graduated from the School of Medicine of the Anahuac University.
  • Specialized in otorhinolaryngology at the National Institute of Respiratory Diseases.
  • Completed post-graduate training in ear surgery at the University of Bordeaux 2, France.

  • Allergy training with the Pan-American Allergy Association.
  • Environmental Medicine training in Dallas, Texas, under the guidance of Dr. W. Rea.
  • Biological Treatments training with Dr. W. Shaw in Kansas.
  • Orthomolecular Medicine training at FAPES in São Paulo, Brazil.
  • Neurodevelopmental training at the Autism Research Institute and the American Academy for Children with Special Needs (MAPS).
  • Completed detoxification courses with the American College for the Advancement of Medicine (ACAM) in Minnesota, USA.

Dr. Leticia Domínguez-Shaw is a dedicated Dentist Surgeon with a profound passion for autism spectrum disorders research and intervention. She holds a degree from the Autonomous Metropolitan University in Mexico City and has spent the last two decades immersing herself in the study of autism.

Credentials:

  • Founding member and Vice President of the Nutritional Intervention League against Autism and Hyperactivity A.C. (LINCA).
  • Director of Linca Internacional, actively involved in organizing and participating in conferences across Latin America, the United States, the Caribbean, and Europe.
  • Trained in the DAN Protocol from the Autism Research Institute and actively participates in the Scientific and Nutrition sessions.
  • Pursued various courses in integrative medicine, environmental medicine, mental health, and nutrition in different countries.
  • Completed courses at IMMH (Integrative Medicine for Mental Health).
  • Has been under the mentorship of her husband, Dr. William Shaw, for the past 18 years.

Dr. Domínguez-Shaw is widely recognized for her expertise in autism spectrum disorders, and her commitment to improving the quality of life for individuals with autism and hyperactivity is commendable. As the author of the book “Improving the Quality of Life of your Autistic or Hyperactive Child” and various articles on the subject, she has contributed significantly to the field. Additionally, she has translated and contributed to Dr. William Shaw’s book “Biological Treatments of Autism and PDD.”

Notably, Dr. Domínguez-Shaw is a devoted mother to a young adult with Autism and Rett Syndrome, residing with them in the United States.

  • Formerly associated with prestigious institutions including the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC), Children’s Mercy Hospital, University of Missouri at Kansas City School of Medicine, and Smith Kline Laboratories.
  • Founder of The Great Plains Laboratory, Inc., an institution dedicated to cutting-edge research and diagnostics.
  • Renowned author of the book “Biological Treatments for Autism and PDD,” originally published in 1998, which has been instrumental in advancing the understanding and treatment of autism.
  • Published the book “Autism: Beyond the Basics” in 2009, further contributing to the knowledge of autism spectrum disorders.
  • Highly sought-after speaker at conferences worldwide, where he shares his extensive knowledge and findings.

Dr. Shaw’s passion for his work is deeply personal, as he is the stepfather of a child with autism. Through his research and expertise, he has positively impacted the lives of countless individuals with autism, AD(H)D, Alzheimer’s disease, arthritis, bipolar disorder, chronic fatigue, depression, fibromyalgia, immune deficiencies, multiple sclerosis, OCD, Parkinson’s disease, seizure disorders, tic disorders, Tourette syndrome, and other serious conditions.

Hugo Florido

PHD.

Doctor of Education from the Santo Tomás University of Bogotá. His professional career is dedicated to education as a teacher and teaching director at the initial, basic, middle, and higher education levels. He is currently the Rector of the Bolivarian Republic of Venezuela IED College, in Bogotá, Colombia, an institution whose political-pedagogical project focuses on education for diversity.

He has been a professor at the universities, National Pedagogical, Los Andes, Santo Tomas, and San Martin in Bogotá, and with other higher education institutions he has been involved in short-term training processes such as free courses and diplomas.

In 2020, he won first place in the Research and Innovation Award by the Institute for Educational Research and Pedagogical Development (IDEP) – Bogotá, with his proposal “Curricular guidelines for the incorporation of inclusive education in public schools in Bogotá-Colombia.

He has written several texts on inclusive education and for diversity, among which the book “The curriculum as the regulatory center of inclusive education in school” edited by the Institute for Educational Research and Pedagogical Development (IDEP) – Bogotá and the article “Education for diversity and the recognition of abilities and provision of opportunities in school: A founding need for education for all”, in the magazine Ensino Em Re-Vista of the University of Uberlandia-Brazil stand out.

For some years now, he has been advising, accompanying, and guiding processes of inclusive education in different territorial entities of the country, through collaboration with Non-Governmental Organizations, IES(s) and educational institutions of preschool, basic, and middle levels from both the public and private sectors.

Founder and President of AGUA – Guatemalan Association for Autism. Founding Member of ALaFe – Autism Latin America Federation. Founding member and coordinator of the White Carnations Mothers Movement. Consultant in RDI (Relationship Development Intervention) training. She has training in autism and associated disorders (TEACCH, PECS, DIR Floortime, biomedical treatments, neuroscience and neuropsychology, animal-assisted therapy, among others). She was a member of the Coordinating Group of the National Platform of Organizations for and for People with Disabilities.
