Mathewjerome Idiaghe, known widely as “The Dyslexic Journalist,” is a certified public speaker, model, event steward, content creator, and award-winning advocate for dyslexia and neurodiversity. With over 13 years in marketing and NGO work, Mathewjerome has dedicated his career to empowering individuals with learning difficulties, advocating for inclusive education, and challenging societal perceptions of neurodiversity. He is the founder of Pathway Beyond Limit Initiative, an organization focused on helping special needs individuals, especially those with dyslexia, unleash their potential and redefine limitations.
Early Life and Education
Born on March 6, 1992, in Tejusho Ajegunle Surelere, Lagos, Nigeria, Mathewjerome grew up in Orile Iganmu, Surulere, and hails from Abavo in Delta State. Despite challenges with academics, bullying, and a learning difference, he exemplified resilience and determination. Writing WAEC and NECO exams twice and attempting JAMB six times, he persevered to graduate with a degree in Sociology and Anthropology from the University of Benin (UNIBEN), overcoming ten carryover courses in his final year. This achievement became the foundation for creating Pathway Beyond Limit Initiative.
Mathewjerome is also an alumnus of Xrislird University, where he served as a student union journalist. During his time at UNIBEN, he was an active member of the Redeemed Evangelical Campus Fellowship (TCF), serving as the ushering coordinator for three consecutive years, highlighting his commitment to faith and community.
Professional Background and Advocacy
In his professional journey, Mathewjerome has served as a sales representative, a volunteer with Ultimate Tender Help Foundation, and assistant public relations officer with School Support Initiative. Currently, he volunteers with Godly Impact, Safe Community, and High Achiever Family (HAF), embodying his commitment to community service. As the Edo State coordinator for the Gospel of Learning Difficulty, he promotes inclusive education and spreads awareness about neurodiversity.
