My name is Jared Parker. I was born and raised in Hialeah, Florida USA. I graduated from my family’s homeschool program in 2015. During my high school years, I attended a homeschool co-op called Classical Conversations which focuses on a classical education, including the learning of Latin, debate, Logic, Mock Trial, and all the core courses.
In that same year, I began attending MDC North Campus and graduated with an AA degree in Mechanical Engineering in the Spring of 2020. Simultaneously, I took night classes at Miami Lakes Educational Center and received certification in Spring of 2018 in Solidworks, a 3D printing course.
Currently, I am a self-employed math and logic tutor at a homeschool co-op called Broward Cooperative Educational Program, or BCEP for short. This is a Christian program that promotes quality classes that helps students learn as well as aid parents in educating their children. I have had the honor of serving BCEP for the past 3 years and have tutored many students, ranging from elementary math to college algebra.
My role is to encourage students who struggle with one of the hardest subjects in the world – Math, as well as being a mentor to those who do not have the confidence in tackling the subject. However, my greatest joy is seeing my students who struggle with math, and Logic, learn to enjoy it.
My hobbies are building Lego models – models that require intense concentration, playing video games, conversing with people, and learning about their lives. I am also fascinated in discussing history, economics, and philosophy with others and learning how the topics shape a person’s viewpoint of life and the world.
