Gabby Baptista is a documentary filmmaker, director, executive producer, creative and
cinematography director, editor, and social impact storytelling strategist, recognized for creating
cinematic narratives that connect education, science, leadership, and human transformation
through the power of storytelling.

She is the CEO and Founder of Vibra Latina, an international audiovisual production company
and creative studio headquartered in Houston, Texas, with operations in Colombia, specializing
in cinematic, institutional, and social impact storytelling. Under her leadership, Vibra Latina has
evolved into an international creative studio dedicated to producing stories that integrate
purpose, innovation, education, and meaningful social impact.

Throughout her career, Gabby has led more than 240 international audiovisual productions,
including documentaries, short films, television reports, institutional content, television series,
and impact-driven projects developed across the United States, Latin America, and Europe, with
a strong focus on education, STEM, leadership, corporate social responsibility, and inclusion.
Her cinematic practice is defined by a deeply authorial and multidisciplinary approach.
Over the
past several years, she has developed her work across multiple dimensions of the filmmaking
process, from concept creation and narrative development to film direction, executive
production, cinematography, creative direction, and editorial storytelling through film editing
shaping a distinctive visual language where emotion, human sensitivity, and purpose converge.

Gabby is the author, creator, and executive producer of the feature-length documentary “Más
Cerca de las Estrellas” (Closer to the Stars), filmed across the United States and Colombia, an
original work exploring the transformative power of education, the essential role of educators,
and the extraordinary possibilities that emerge when young people gain access to inspiration,
guidance, and opportunity.

In 2024, the documentary held its private premiere in partnership with Space Center Houston as
part of the official agenda of the Space Exploration Educators Conference (SEEC), becoming
the first feature-length documentary created by a 100% Hispanic creative, technical, and
production team including executive production, associate production, creative staff, and crew to
be screened within this educational and space exploration ecosystem.

The screening took place at the iconic Space Center Theater at Space Center Houston,
recognized for hosting cinematic and educational experiences connected to space exploration.
The venue has featured programming associated with productions such as Apollo 13, A Million
Miles Away, The Moonwalkers: A Journey with Tom Hanks, documentaries including EVA 23,
and educational experiences designed to inspire future generations through science and space
Exploration.

The documentary “Más Cerca de las Estrellas” (Closer to the Stars) also received international
editorial recognition when Forbes Colombia published a featured article highlighting the film’s
educational and social impact, as well as its vision of using cinema as a bridge between
inspiration, education, and opportunity.

The film continues to expand its educational reach through Platino Educa, a Spanish
educational platform that uses cinema as a pedagogical tool throughout Ibero-America. Closer
to the Stars is part of its educational catalog and is accompanied by a classroom
implementation guide, enabling educators to integrate the documentary into learning
experiences related to leadership, purpose, science, and resilience with a potential reach of
more than 100,000 students across Ibero-America.

However, the impact of the film extended far beyond the screen.
What began as a documentary evolved into an educational and social movement that today
inspires teachers, students, and communities through immersive experiences that use space
sciences as a cross-disciplinary tool to foster innovation, leadership, critical thinking, and
expanded possibilities.

From this vision emerged Closer To The Stars Foundation, a nonprofit organization founded by
Gabby Baptista in Houston, Texas, created to expand access to high-quality, future-oriented
education through the development of educational infrastructure, teacher training, and pathways

for students particularly those in historically underserved communities toward opportunities in
STEAM, global leadership, workforce development, and innovation-driven industries.
The documentary work of (loser to the Stars has received 3 international awards and 8
nominations, with recognition across the United States, Europe, and Africa.
